Saturday, 06 January 2007 |
In the far south of the American continent, between the slopes of the Andes, the Amazon jungle, the Atlantic Ocean and the South Pole, there lies Argentina. A country of national parks, glaciers, nature reserves, a country of gourmet dishes and the best wine on the planet, a country of turbulent and violent history, a country of hyperinflation, football, and southern melancholy that the world has come to know as the Tango. The lecture will be held at the Vuckovic Music School Grand Hall on Monday, January 15, 2007, at 8pm. The lecture will be given by Veljko Vukasovic, a tanguero who spent more than 7 months travelling round Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Chile. We invite all lovers of the tango and Argentina to come to this fascinating and valuable journey. A rich choice of photographs made by the lecturer in his travels will accompany the lecture. Following the lecture, there will be a milonga until 11pm.
